Hello, I have two issues which I cannot figure out how to correct. The first one, every time I open to a new tab, my default search engine is set to Bing, which I have is google, see attached screen shot.

Secondly, when I went to the mozilla plugin page, it stated that I have no plugins loaded. See below.

Also, I would like to upload my ABOUT:SUPPORT text file, but apparently it's too large.

Is there a reason you are using a very old version of Firefox? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version 50.0 <strike>49.0.2</strike>

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove Bing Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

These articles are for Firefox 43.0 and newer so there may be some changes since the old 17.0.1 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-popular-search-suggestions-firefox-search-bar https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-or-remove-search-engine-firefox http://mycroftproject.com/

If no Plugins are found then you may have rather old Plugins much like the rather old Firefox 17.0.1 you have as Fx 17.0.1 was released back on November 30, 2012.

You can look in about:plugins

The Flash Player is at version 11.2.202.644 for Linux and the Beta version is currently at 24.0.0.170 http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Note Firefox since Firefox 46.0 has required GTK 3.4 or preferably newer to run and also as a result requires a GTK3 theme as GTK2 themes will not work.

Okay, I am using the latest version of FF 51.b3 64. I ONLY both these issues with my original profile, which has all my logins, passwords, bookmarks, addons etc.

https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-beta/rev/f37e99ebc6e0c682003b52573f415e5fd78d425a

I'm attaching a screen shot of when I attempted to logon to my icloud (apple account).

My other "PLAIN" profiles I do not have this issue with. How can I disable all my addons, keep my bookmarks, passwords, and start off from their?

Now, I decided to investigate this thing with Bing myself with the about:config, and I typed in bing, and this is what I came up with:

browser.newtab.url http://www.bing.com/?pc=COSP&ptag=D111816-AD42D1DB7E9&form=CONMHP&conlogo=CT3334497

browser.newtabpage.url http://www.bing.com/?pc=COSP&ptag=D111816-AD42D1DB7E9&form=CONMHP&conlogo=CT3334497

browser.search.defaultenginename Bing®

browser.search.order.3 Bing

browser.search.order.US.3 data:text/plain,browser.search.order.US.3=Bing

browser.search.selectedEngine Bing®

browser.translation.engine bing

I have to apologize for being away for a couple of days but I had other issues to deal with (taking care of my 77 year old mother, cleaning, doinf wash, cooking with mom for the Thanksgiving Holiday, looking for employment, etc., the every day stuff). I just want to thank the people who responded, without you, FF wouldn't be the best browser in the world (IMHO)! I would really appreciate assistance with these issues. Thank you again!
