WebRTC is, essentially, spyware. It has extreme privacy and security implications. Yet Mozilla keeps turning the bloody thing back on by default with every update!

Mozilla, it's bad enough you cowed to the DRM people. Let's not cower to the webRTC folks too. Please make the default for Hello to be disabled, or at least honor the about:config settings of previous installations.

If you don't actively use Hello, then it won't do anything in the background, and the WebRTC functionality of Firefox won't be invoked.

However, it should be remaining disabled if you have disabled it. Have you checked that "loop.enabled" is still false in about:config, or did that change?

We did do some changes to how this worked about six or seven weeks ago, but the recent release shouldn't have affected this.
