when i try to navigate off the firefox start page, i just get a refresh of the start page
today i got a Microsoft software update and ever since, my Firefox will not navigate off the Firefox start page. my bookmarks don't work, my recent history doesn't work, even the search feature on the Firefox start page doesn't work.

thank you. in case you have nvidia's network access manager or forceware network manager software installed, please go into your system control panel and uninstall it (or go there and have look if it is listed there, if you're unsure about this)...
where do I check to see if I have the NVidia's network access manager....checking the control panel now

yes, to be on the safe side probably start the whole windows machine once... hopefully everything is back to normal afterwards.
ok, it asks to restart the machine after removing the Forceware network manager. I'll give it a try
