Ello!

I'm trying to START FRESH with search suggestions/auto-fill options. I've tried... ~ clearing history. ~ I've tried setting custom privacy settings, then clearing history. ~ I've tried uninstalling Firefox completely, then reinstalling it.

The fact that every option so far hasn't worked is starting to make me want to poke around to the point of deleting anything and everything I can get my hands on, and hope my bookmarks survive, which shouldn't be necessary.

PS: I primarily use Google as my search engine. If it's possible that Google is hanging onto information, troubleshooting for that would be greatly appreciated.

You can rename (or delete) the formhistory.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder. You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry
