If I close Firefox I am required to restart my computer to get it to work again; what can I do?
I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I have finally got The latest version of Firefox to work. However, if I shut it down I cannot access it unless I restart my computer. I had this problem a couple of years ago with an older version of Firefox. This caused me to migrate to Chrome. I recently came back to Firefox because it would restart. Now with Windows 10 I am back to having to restart as Chrome will not function and I don't like Edge. What do I have to do to resolve this issue?

Try to use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

If you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear Cookies then exclude the cookies and instead let the cookies expire when Firefox is closed to make them session cookies.
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Keep until: "I close Firefox"
Do you get an error message when you try to restart Firefox? For example:

Note: If the Windows 10 Task Manager is like the one in Windows 8.1, firefox.exe appears on a new tab called Details instead of the tab called Processes
