After updating Firefox to 37.1 e get this erros message when trying to connect to my University proxy:

ERROR Cache Access Denied While trying to retrieve the URL: http://med.up.pt/ The following error was encountered:

   Cache Access Denied.

Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request:

   http://med.up.pt/

from this cache until you have authenticated yourself. You need to use Netscape version 2.0 or greater, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, or an HTTP/1.1 compliant browser for this to work. Please contact the cache administrator if you have difficulties authenticating yourself or change your default password. I'm on OS X 10.10, Chrome and Safari connect just fine. Help would be much appreciated.

This is going to be a problem with the proxy software incorrectly detecting your browser version. The best solution will be for them to update their proxy software.

But you can work around this by tricking the proxy into thinking you're using Firefox 36.0 by using an add-on like this one.
