how do I hide the webcam icon?

When I connect/activate a webcam, I get a very useful persistent icon at the top of my screen that links to "tabs sharing devices". I have developed an interactive display site that I need to take full screen. I'm using F11 to achieve the full screen effect I need, but the little icon is still there! How do I make it go away please?

Currently I cannot find a work around for this, please leave feedback for the developers about this icon in input.mozilla.org.
