My firefox has been crashing about 10 times day for about 6 months now. I've updated everything in my computer and all the firefox add ons. I've even updated to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7 and still the same problem. I'm starting to think its a hardware issue. I've even tried using Chrome. I'm still having the same problem and get the "aw snap" when browsing. The only plug in I have is Adblocker. The the extensions are Shockwave, shockwave for director, Adobe acrobat, and OpenH264 video codec by Cinsco. I've updated everything. Reinstalled everything and now started to buy new hardware. Recently put Windows 8 on a brand new hard drive and still having the same problem. I'm almost considering buying another motherboard. I have my crash dump file that I can send if anyone can help.

You can check for issues caused by plugins and set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page (plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode)

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Sorry guys, just got home.

In regards to cor-el's response, I've tried the majority of your answers in the past but nothing has worked. I'll give it another try and let you know.

Thanks FredMcD I'll check my JavaScript and Aurua, but I'm sure I've already updated them. I will give it a try and get back to you both. Thanks!

I've tried what was suggested and no luck. It's not only with Firefox, it's also with Chrome and IE9. The browser just simply crash. No matter what search engine I use. After a few web crashes I will get a BSOD and then a memory dump system restart. I've pretty much tried everything to fix it =/
