Hi,

I have encountered several problems after updating to 31.1.2.

1. I cannot send mails from one of my accounts, neither does it download messages from this account. When I log in to the web mail of this account the messages are there. When I try to send the mail I get the message:

Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent using SMTP server mail.vista-consulting.hr for an unknown reason. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact your network administrator.

I have the control over the mail server, and have looked into the mail log and it says:

Oct 2 17:08:37 droplet postfix/smtpd[10916]: connect from unknown[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] Oct 2 17:08:37 droplet postfix/smtpd[10916]: lost connection after STARTTLS from unknown[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] Oct 2 17:08:37 droplet postfix/smtpd[10916]: disconnect from unknown[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]

when I try to send the mail.

2. The update of enigmail and ligntening got somhow stuck. In the Add-ons Manager window I see the old versions and new ones (lightening 2.6.3 and 3.3.1, enigmail 1.6 and 1.7.2). The new versions a however dimmed. Restaring Thunderbrid does not help.

3. All of my entries in the calendar vanished which is a very big issue for me.

Best regards

Andrija

Close Thunderbird and navigate to your profile folder. There's a subfolder 'extensions'. Locate the folder for both, Lightning, and Enigmail underneath 'extensions' and delete them.

I think there may have been a change in how Thunderbird handles self signed certificates, either your own certificate or the CA certificate. If you have a self signed certificate that might be your problem. See also bug 1036338 for more info...

I see the old versions and new ones

I'd probably start with trying to remove those extensions.

Thanks for the link Onno. The workaround worked for me. However this is very unfortunate and I'm thinking about replacing Thunderbird with another e-mail client because it's not the first time that I experience significant problems with it.

Removing extensions and reinstalling is not working. Firstly, only the old versions can be removed. After removing the old version and installing the new one form file I have the situation from the attached picture. Not to mention that I still don't have my calendar entries.
