How to selectively backup only some folders of bookmarks?
When I go to the "show all bookmarks" window, I would like to export one or two folders into one .json bookmarks backup file. But the current options support for exporting only the entire bookmarks.
Is there any solution to selectively backup only certain folders from the bookmarks?

No, it is all or nothing. What you can do is export as .html and then edit the resulting file and remove all the folders and contents except the ones you want to keep. If you have to restore those, import the file and they will be appended.
Note that restoring a JSON backup would replace all existing bookmarks, so you would end up with only those bookmarks if you would restore such a selective JSON backup.
Here is the solution I figured out to this problem myself. Hope it helps somebody who is having the same problem.
There was a plugin called fastdial which used to allow exporting/importing of individual folders within the bookmarks.
The newer version, Fastdial (v4.1.1), does not have this feature. Fastdial v2.15 was the last known version that has this feature, but works only with FireFox v3.0-3.1b3 ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-dial-5721/versions/ ).
The plugin "Fastdial for all versions(FX6 v3.6)" by DerpyHooves has the option but doesn't export/import bookmark folders.
What you can do is:
1. download portable form of older version of firefox (v3.0) which works well with fastdial v2.15,
2. install the plugin - fastdial v2.15
3. export your bookmarks entirely from your regular browser,
4. import this into the portable firefox and
5. use the plugin to export selective folders!!
NOTE: As of this writing, this is the ONLY solution which will help you to export/import folders in bookmarks selectively. All the other solutions ask you to edit the html file or suggest even complicated procedures.
