I have used Foxfire for a while but just had to do a clean reinstall of my software. After this I downloaded Foxfire once again and in the setup page it mentioned using this for Facebook, too, so I clicked on launch. There now is a blank space to the right of the body of the webpage that I can't seem to get rid of. Should I uninstall Foxfire and try to download it again without the Facebook thing? Will that get rid of the space to the right of the body of the browser? I just want it to look like it did before I launched the facebook add-on and can't seem to figure it out on my own. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium if that makes any difference.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Firefox is the name. Foxfire is a bio-luminescent fungus.

Please provide a screenshot of that issue.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

I am referring to the space to the right--the vertical and vacant space to the right of the body of the screen. I want to lose that and regain the tool bar at the top that begins on the left upper corner with 'File'. Any help you can give me would be great. Thank you.

As far as displaying the Menu Bar, see this - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/display-firefox-button-menu-instead-menu-toolbar - and the opposite of what is discussed there.

That appears to be an issue caused by an incompatible add-on.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Firefox SafeMode

  • You can open the Firefox 15.0+ SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

When you figure out what is causing that, please let us know. It might help other user's who have that problem.

You may be seeing the Social features sidebar.

You can disable the Social features by setting the social.enabled pref to false on the about:config page.
