Hi guys, when trying to back-up my FF Profile, I have noticed, that my Firefox created two directories for 1 profile in different location ? I see my profile folder in "AppData\Local" location and also "AppData\Roaming" location.

The latter one seems to be the corresponding profile dir (with places.sqlite) .

the former one looks weird and has over 1 GB. Can someone help me what's wrong with my FF installation (why FF did create these two folders?) Can I delete the "Local" profile dir ? (1 GB of senseless data is really bugging me)

"AppData\Local" is the cache folder, the offline cache folder, anti-phising database, along with 2 fast load files.

ok, and what does this mean ? is the cache helpful to increase speed when loading a frequently visited web pages? I just cleared the cache (via menu in FF), what's the purpose of clearing the cache ? sorry for this newbie question

The main profile folder is in AppData\Roaming

The other location in AppData\Local is used for the cache and the phishing protection database.
