Since Adobe Flash Player plugin updated itself to 11.3.300.262 version, embedded flash objects in pages and forums are disappearing from the screen when I scroll the page.

There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player and some Firefox add-ons or settings. If you end up trying Flash 11.3 again, can you see whether disabling smoothing scrolling helps with the display problem?

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > General

Uncheck the box for "Use smoothing scrolling"

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that. That's the only thing I haven't tried yet.

Btw, I attach a screenshot from my Hungarian blog so you can see better what the problem is. In the top of the picture you can see an empty place (an embedded SoundCloud Flash object should be there), and then you can see the embedded YouTube object of which the bottom is missing.

Now that's a "button nose". :-)

There was a similar thread last week. In that case, I think one person rolled back Flash player to 11.2, and the other disabled graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. See Scrolling breaks/chops up embedded flash videos.

Thank you! At least now I know what it's called in English. :)

In my case, the player DOES NOT SHOW UP AT ALL (On ANY of my browsers) REGARDLESS of what website I visit (Except YouTube where the player IS visible HOWEVER videos simply don't play) !!!!!

When I rolled back to 11.3.300.257, Firefox not only CRASHES ALTOGETHER but it DOES NOT EVEN DETECT Flash Player as a plugin (Yet Google Chrome, which uses the same plugin infrastructure that Firefox normally uses) DOES detect Flash Player 11.3.300.257 as a plugin & IS WORKING PROPERLY !!!!!

Does anyone know of a place where I can download 11.3.300.257 for Firefox so I can use it for video again?

Many thanks in advance :)

BTW.....The version of Firefox is 14.0 Beta

Cheers :D

Hi PC_Bigboy, all 11.3 versions have the same issue (257 or 262). Please see this article for more information: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox.

I didn't have any issues with the last version that I had (Which I *believe* was either 11.3.300.257 or 11.3.300.261, not sure now) but with 11.3.300.262, you can FORGET about using ANY browser (FF, IE, Chrome, Safari or any of their clones) to view ANY Flash content as it just won't work

In short, the problems with 11.3.300.262 isn't limited to Firefox

Because of this, I should think Adobe is under TREMENDOUS pressure to fix this

Cheers :D

EDIT - I did EVERYTHING in the article & my problem STILL is not fixed. Somehow I think the problem is two-pronged between BOTH Firefox 14.0 Beta AND Flash Player 11.3.300.262 since AFP 11.3.300.262 doesn't work with ANY browser & previous versions HAVE worked with FF 14.0 Beta

In any case, this is a problem which MUST be fixed as I've done everything BUT downgrade back to the last version of FF 13 (That's MY ONLY other option but given the fact that 11.3.300.262 won't work with ANY browser, I have to wonder what is to be gained by downgrading the browser)

EDIT AGAIN - You MUST ALSO disable the SHOCKWAVE Player version 11.3.300.262 as well. If you don't & you install an older version of AFP, then it will become confused as to which plugin to use (Which results in a crash or browser freeze)

I am now running AFP 10.3.183.20 just to play it safe EVEN THOUGH my other browsers (Which INCLUDES SeaMonkey!) DID NOT have an issue parsing the difference between AFP 10.3.183.20 & AFP 11.3.300.257 OR 11.3.300.262
