I installed a persona, and now Firefox will no longer restore my previous session when I reopen it. Please let me know what I have to do to get Firefox to restore my previous session. If I have to get rid of the persona, I will. Thanks

Note: I have not updated Firefox because I will lose my Google toolbar. I want access to my Google account and bookmark.

Make sure that you do not use Clear Recent History to clear the Browsing History when you close Firefox.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

First, I checked to make sure that I did not have Clear Recent History set, and I did not.

Then, I opened in Safe Mode, changed Appearance to default, closed, and restarted Firefox. The Default appearance was back, but when I clicked on Restore Previous Session, nothing happened.

Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

Try to delete the file chromeappsstore.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

I followed your directions exactly, going through the Help menu, etc, and deleted chromeappsstore.sqlite. I closed Mozilla and restarted it, but it still will not restore my previous session.

Thanks for your continued help.

Is the "History > Restore Previous Session" menu entry enabled or is that grayed?

If that entry is enabled then that means that a previous session is available.

If there is a problem with the "Restore Previous Session" not working then deleting the chromeappsstore.sqlite file should fix that.
Otherwise try This setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

When I went to History>Restore Previous Session, I found it was enabled and was able to get my last set of tabs to open just by clicking on it. I was not able to open them using the link in the middle of the home scree, but you gave me a simple way of accessing my last session. I thank you very much.
