update browser/extension dialog freaks me out, it always shows up when not expected...i don`t want to see it at all..also update takes alot of time right when i need to access internet immediately...this really freaks out

Tell me what version of Firefox are you using ? Latest version- Firefox 3.6.15

To check what version you are using, Click Help Menu and select About Firefox.

If you are using the latest version and still get that update notice, then you are infected by the Browser Update VIRUS.
