How do i keep my work computer browser seperate from my home browser account???

Somehow out of the blue my home firefox account became my work firefox account? All my work shortcuts or bookmarks appeared at my home but i dont want them.

It sounds like you connect both devices to the same Sync account.

You only can keep synced data from home and work separate if you use separate Sync accounts (email addresses). If you connect devices to the same Sync account then all devices end up with the same data.

I believe something changed at firefox. I didnt change any account settings to merge to one. This is what id expect out of Chrome or edge and just why i dont use those. I dont want everything connected.

How can i get my home bookmarks back on my home firefox and keep my work firefox seperate?

I would appreciate your help.

Are you using Sync?

Restoring bookmarks shouldn't be a problem as Firefox keeps backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

The name of automatically created JSON bookmarks backups in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once. You also see this count in the Library Restore menu drop-down list.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.
