Hi,

I have an issue. I today I reinstalled my windows. I recovered and synced my Mozilla, however it still doesn't have my old passwords, add ons and bookmarks including my old opened tabs from my firefox laptop. I really need to have all of that. Is there any chance you guys can help me?

Hi, when you sign in to your Firefox Account, Firefox should start Sync'ing data from your previous installation. It's not foolproof, however; it works best when both installations are still running and the browsers can synchronize through the server.

If nothing comes through after allowing "idle" time, do you have any backups? Did Windows create a

C:\Windows.old

folder during your reinstall, or is that only with the Windows 10 Refresh feature?

Thanks for quick reply!

That's my problem acutally - no windows back ups.

I think my firefox synchronised with my android version of Firefox.

That's why I was wondering maybe there is an option to just 'go back to previous firefox laptop version'?

On your Android device, do you still have bookmarks or tabs from your old desktop setup? I think tabs are sync'd in real time, but bookmarks might persist.

You can install any version of Firefox you like, but unfortunately, if you do not have a backup, and Sync does not have the data, that version of Firefox won't have it, either.

No, it's completely different setup.

That's what I thought, thanks for help anyway!

You can install the About Sync extension in Firefox 72 and newer on desktop to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.

Close and restart Firefox to access the about:sync page added by this extension (see the about:about page for possible about pages).
