Are there Message Rules in Thunderbird?
Hello, I just downloaded and installed Thunderbird, migrating from Windows Live Mail. I am looking for a way to run Message Rules on incoming mail. It is a feature in MS-Outlook and LiveMail, that will move messages as they are downloaded to specific local directories.
Is this feature in Thunderbird? If so, could you please tell me where to find it?
Thank you very much.

When you have a message that you want to set a rule for, click the message and then click on the Message tab at the top, pick create Filter from message. This will open a new box that you can set your own rules for. It includes moving, deleting (if its spam) and colouring (really useful for categorising).

Thanks @broomster, I saw the Filters but thought it just filtered what you saw in your mailbox. Sorry, I should have checked it out first. Thanks again for your help.
I tried this but I do not see a message tab when I click on a message, so I cannot create a filter. Maybe I am missing something here? I would dearly like to replace my Outlook 2010 App which is giving me some real problems. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide. Peter B.
@pbrixey41,
Peter, I haven't tried it yet either, sorry. Does this help? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/organize-your-messages-using-filters
