When I google a topic, the page shows up with ? in boxes for all text. Text on actual web pages read correctly. I there a fix for this?

Hello kathy13,

Would you try this please :

Type in the address bar   about:config   and press Enter.
(ignore the warning)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

security.sandbox.content.level

Lower the default value   (= 5)   to   2.

Should that not solve the problem, then lower the value to   1,   or even   0  (= zero).

Any luck ?

Note that this happens if you use a third-party font manager that installs fonts in a non-default location that Firefox blocks by default (only some default locations are white-listed.

You can check what font Firefox is trying to use.

You can right-click and select "Inspect Element" to open the builtin Inspector with this element selected.

You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Font tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.
