I have gmail account on Thumderbird but I keep getting the following pop up message: “Authentication Failure while connection to server imap gmail.com’ I have change my password app. 5 time with no satisfactory results. But if I use the web gmail the password changed and I can read my email.

I'm not sure what that means. You'll need to use the same password for Thunderbird as for webmail.

Also, please post your Troubleshooting Information. At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Help > Troubleshooting Information. Press the "Copy text to clipboard button" and paste the information into your reply.

March 10, 2020, I can't log in to my Gmail account on TBird. Yesterday I could until later in the afternoon. I was having trouble with Chrome and uninstalled and reinstalled it. After that, I could no longer get my mail through thunderbird. I've read far too many posts with solutions but none of them have worked. I can get my emails on Gmail but I want to be able to get them through Thunderbird as I have all my folders set up for my needs. This extremely frustrating and has cost me a day and a half trying to figure this out. On my laptop, I am able to get my emails from Gmail on Thunderbird. I've done side by side comparison and all settings are the same. Unless I've somehow missed something there I just can't understand why this is a problem on the desktop. BTW both computers are running windows 10. I have also uninstalled Tbird on both computers and reinstalled it. but again no luck with the desktop.

I really hope somebody can help.
