For the last two months or so, despite numerous Firefox updates, I keep having the same problem each time I close a Firefox window. I get the message that a crash has happened, when in fact there was no crash at all!

It doesn't matter on which online site I was at the moment I close Firefox, it happens every and each time I close it.

What can/should I do about this?

Is there anything you can do/help with to solve these false crashes reports?

Thank you!

ok, thank you. can you try if the following step is making a difference: press ctrl+shift+del in firefox to bring up the dialog to clear recent history, select the time range "everything", untick all boxes except "offline website data" and let firefox clear that. does firefox shut down cleanly after that?

hallo, can you please enter "about:crashes" into the address bar and provide the id of one of those submitted reports (the id is starting with "bp-")?

Hello!

Sorry but I can't find none of my numerous reports provided, on that long list of "bp-" crashes...

Anyway, trying to read those logs is, for me, like trying to understand an "alien" language!

I guess the best thing to do for me in to uninstall Firefox, and then reinstall it again. And then I'll see if I keep getting those false crashes reports.

Thanks anyway.

Philipp is asking you for just the 'Report ID' of one of your 'bp-' reports. UnSubmitted ones are listed first that do not begin with 'bp-'.

Scroll down to find the Report IDs that start with 'bp-'. These were submitted. Just copy one or several of the 'bp-' Report IDs to paste in your reply here on the Forum. (Not the whole Report itself - just the Report ID(s).)

You mean, any report(s)? Not necessarily mine?

There are plenty of "bp_" reports on the list! How do how know if any of them is one of mine?

Anyway, I've uninstalled Firefox, then downloaded it again and installed it again.

The sad news is that the exact same fake crashes small windows keep popping up after I close the Firefox windows!

all of the crashes listed in there are yours, please just provide the most recent submitted ones...

The Crash reporter comes up when Firefox crashes and gives you the option of submitting the crash report.

The about:crashes is a internal page on your Firefox and lists your crash reports.

Thank you for clarifying that!

Ok, so here is the last one:

Hope this helps solve the problem.

Thanks again.

Philipp,

Did as you suggested, after that have already opened and closed Firefox a few times, and apparently it works, no Crash Report boxes again, so it seems the problem is solved!

Many thanks! Really appreciate your help!
