Someone should investigate why Win10-DefaultBrowser-Setting affects Firefox performance
I'm on a clean Windows 10 install with latest drivers, so don't tell me to clean history and disable extensions.... I started to use Firefox after hearing even edge is becoming chrome, i've tought it's time to change. (chrome use before).
Problem? In comparison to chrome and edge, it was slow. Especially typical pages Facebook/Youtube....i mean so slow to making me wanna uninstall it. Then i saw this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1242448#question-reply
I must say... somehow restoring Edge as default browser, made Firefox run faster I really can't understand why nobody is noticing this, if you look on the internet for Firefox performance issues you only find rubbish solutions.

Edge making it a default browser has nothing to do with FF being fast. what you encountered is just coincedence.
fwiw, my default browser is FF and that slowness with FF 65.x got fixed when i started using FF 66 beta!
yup the beta version runs faster, loads faster. i wish when it comes out of beta it would retain that performance. if not, it means something is being added after the shift from beta to production release.
