Hello,

After tightening the security on our mail server Thunderbird won't connect to it any longer. I removed TLS1.0 and insecure ciphers. I need some help getting Thunderbird to connect to our Exchange Server again. we're using Exchange 2010. What ciphers does Thunderbird accept? It was connected to Exchange before we made the change. I went into the thunderbird options and adjusted the TLS options so that it would use TLS1.1 and 1.2.

Thunderbird is up to date.

One of the two messages we're receiving is: Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialog to reduce the number of cached connections.

Thanks, Dan

issues with to many connections sometime simply mean the account has been suspended, so one connection is to many.

Check that the email account and the user have not been locked out because of user policies would be the first step.

The next would b to test the server using something like. https://www.htbridge.com/ssl/

January has seen the demise of Symantec certificates, so checking the certificates in use might b a good thing and the test will look at that.
