Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work? : https://support.mozilla.org/kb/npapi-plugins
The 32-bit was a requirement Only for Windows only as 64-bit Mac and Linux was not stuck with only allowing Flash Player and Silverlight in Win64 builds back then.
Firefox 52 ESR (52.9.0esr) was the last to still other NPAPI Plugins to run besides Flash Player.
Firefox builds for Mac have been 64-bit since 53.0 as Universal builds were dropped. Bug 1295375 Drop support for universal Mac builds in Firefox 53.0
Also you are using Mac OS X 10.14 as iOS is used on iPhones and iPads
