Can I install a second Thunderbird on my XP Virtual Machine?

I've just installed the current version of Thunderbird on my Windows 7 machine. That installation will be to download e-mails from my new Xfinity e-mail accounts.

However, I have twenty years' worth of Juno e-mail that I wish to migrate to Thunderbird so that I can finally get rid of Juno.

I have Windows XP installed on a virtual machine. That is where I would like to install a second Thunderbird in which to migrate these old Juno e-mails. I understand from a previous (closed) thread that this is possible.

But to begin, should the version I install on the virtual machine be a different version from the one I have just installed on Windows 7? Since I've been using an older version of Juno all these years (Juno 5.0) should I be choosing an older version of Thunderbird to migrate these e-mails to? Juno customer support is basically non-existent, and all my previous attempts to migrate Juno to another e-mail client have failed, so I anticipate I shall have more questions as I attempt to transfer those hundreds of Juno e-mails into Thunderbird.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

Dandelion

If Juno works on windows 7, just run a second Thunderbird profile per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles
