I am installing the Firefox 52.6 ESR on RHEL 6.8. I have tried installing the below packages but for some issues they are not version compatiable. Kindly provide the me the sequence of installing the packages and the where do I find them for RHEL 6 version.

Firefox will not run at all without the following libraries or packages:
       GTK+ 3.4 or higher
       GLib 2.22 or higher
       Pango 1.14 or higher
X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher is recommended)
       libstdc++ 4.6.1 or higher
For optimal functionality, we recommend the following libraries or packages:
       NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
       DBus 1.0 or higher
       GNOME 2.16 or higher
       PulseAudio

If you paid for this older RHEL 6.8 version then you should get customer support from Red Hat. Customer support is a reason why you pay for it when there are plenty of good free Linux distros out there that also have more current packages for desktop PC use. Is this your home system or a work system?

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/45.0/system-requirements/ https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/46.0/system-requirements/ (Apr 26, 2016) https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/50.0/system-requirements/ https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/52.0esr/system-requirements/ https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/58.0/system-requirements/

The only requirement changes since Firefox 45.0 was going from GTK 2.18 to GTK+ 3.4 or higher starting at Fx 46.0 and libstdc++ 4.3 or higher to libstdc++ 4.6.1 or higher starting at Fx 50.0 and PulseAudio instead of Alsa starting at Fx 52.0.

The main issue people tended to run into running Firefox 46.0 and newer with Linux systems that have older packages or older stable branch packages was the new GTK+ 3.4 (three.four) minimum requirement for Firefox to run. Even though GTK 3.4 is rather old now as it was released March 2012.

The system requirements for Firefox 58.0 are the same as 52.0 so this is not going to make a difference.

This is my work system, yest I agree that the libraries requirement are same for Firefox 58 and 52. That is the reason I want to install the Satable release version which is v52.6.

I tried installing the below libraries for gtk +3.4. but I ran into issues. Seems that packages are dependent on each other.

pkg-config glib atk pango cairo font-free gdk-pixbuf libeffi freetype harfbuzz pango pcre pixman

I would need a bundle or src package of firefox with all the libraries for RHEL 6.8 or the sequence to install the the libraries and the version of them.

Thanks in Advance.
