Definitel don't like all the new messy-looking browser window. How can I go back to the speedy version? New locks up cpu at 100%. Can't access any Website!

I thought Mozilla led the browser-option pack. This new upgrade is lousy. How can I go back to the older version?

All the junk loaded in the window is totally unwanted !

As noted above, can't visit any Web address due to CPU constantly being locked at 100% mark. Can't close Mozilla window. Have to open task manager and terminate.

If no solution - (having been forced to use MS's I E software to write this) - will have to abandon Mozilla !

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you.

Could you go to the Firefox Menu Bar then--> Help --> Troubleshooting Information. Please take a look in the Accessibility Section if Accessibility is set to "True" there. If yes : Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu (right side top) --> Options --> Privacy & Security then under Permissions check the setting to prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser. Restart Firefox.

If still issues with CPU and memory Please ask .

What junk that is loaded in the Window. I have no junk, remove what you do not like, put it where you do like it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-new-tab-page

https://www.howtogeek.com/333110/how-to-customize-firefox-quantum-and-remove-the-white-space-around-the-title-bar/ Here's a more comprehensive project which affects not only tabs but brings back the old "grid-style" options menu. https://github.com/axydavid/FirefoxUI/blob/master/README.md

It isn't completely possible to use the Australis design with Firefox 57, but depending on what you want, you might be able to customize the UI to look more like the old one: This project: https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis lets you have the old tab bar appearance back in Firefox 57. You can remove the space around the address bar by right-clicking on the spaces, and choosing "remove from toolbar". Note the Black Theme is just a Example and can be found in Customize.

Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 is no longer safe to use for every day use do to secuity issues, but 52.5.0 ESR is. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

That sorta covers all the other ..... Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Could you try restarting Firefox in its Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
