Matt - No that was not the issue - The issue is the cloud storage when not automatically signed into otherwise "off" This screws up the Thunderbird file Navigator -! very important to note this. This also effects the auto crash reports generated by Thunderbird. - Also very important to note.

I had all 3 services Icloud, Onedrive, Google Drive all turned off, not to automatically sign in.

Why, if there an "WWW" net issues to any of these cloud storage services this slows my boot up.

Very very important to take note.

Taking down Kaspersky did not fix my problem.

Thanks Hutch

I may have not been clear. I had to uninstall all three cloud services, Icloud, Onedrive and Googledrive simply turning off, not signing in , and disabling the services at startup did not resolve the issue. I has to uninstall the services to get the thunderbird file navigator not to crash.

I had turned the services off initially, because my service provider was working on "network" issues.

Matt - Very important to note. Taking down, uninstalling Kaspersky did not fix my problem.

The issue in my case was cloud storage services when not automatically signed into : were "off", not signed into.

This screws up the Thunderbird file Navigator - very important to note this. I had all thee cloud storage services: Icloud, OneDrive and Googledrive.

This also effects the auto crash reports generated by Thunderbird. - Also very important to note.

Disabling the services at startup did not resolve the problem even though I was not signed in.

I had to uninstall all three services to resolve the thunderbird file navigator issue.

These services were turned "off" not signed in; because my service provider was "fixing" network issues a few months back.

I am sure you can duplicate the issue;

Not the Thunderbird 52.* releases still all crash, but now the crash information is being sent after I uninstalled the cloud services.

Thanks Hutch

The next issue where all thunderbird versions from 52.* were crashing was resolved by stepping back to 45.8 version and exporting the address books as .CSV files then clean up "weird" entires and importing back into Thunderbird 45.8.

Tested sending combinations of TEXT, TEXT and PICS

Then upgraded to Thunderbird 52.4 and all is well.......

The base issue moving to V52.* was resolved by exporting the address books cleaning them up and importing them.

I could not figure out how the get the personal address book into the "default" personal address book folder?
