If you are unable to start in safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird a fallback approach is to reinstall from http://getthunderbird.com/

I'm unable to log into Thunderbird email program since 12-29-2017. I got a bug report saying, "The current operation on "Inbox" did not succeed. The mail server for account [email protected] responded [CLIENTBUG].

I've updated to the current version 52.5.0 and restarted my PC. Do you know what happened? Help!
