what does 'maildrop busy' mean?
I've used Thunderbird for about 2 months now and never had problems til this morning. Frontier techs spent over an hour and couldn't resolve the issue. I can't send or receive mail because the popup says MAILDROP BUSY. Does that mean YOUR maildrop and I should just wait and give it time to be corrected? Thx

Thunderbird doesn't have a maildrop. This doesn't sound or feel like a Thunderbird message.
Type "maildrop busy" into your favourite search engine and I think you'll see many queries, in connection with many different servers and clients. I can't see that it is specific to Thunderbird. It's typically a server refusing a connection because the account is already in use.
Do you have a Mac or use an iPhone or iPad? These are known for consuming all the available connections, freezing out connection attempts from other clients.
