How to stop Win7 switching directly to Firefox when I click on hyperlinks in Thunderbird
I like to read all my emails in one session. I hate it when I click on a hyperlink and I am immediately taken to Firefox, so that I have to re-open Thunderbird to continue reading my email. I want to read my mail first, then look at the links. Please tell me how to stop this, and free the world from my frequent obsecenities and profanities. Win7 Pro 6.1 SP1 , Firefox 47, Thunderbird 45.1.1

This is not actually a Thunderbird question, but a browser issue, so you should really be asking this in the Firefox forum (assuming you use firefox) as it is the browser taking the focus.
However, here is some help for Firefox.
Type : about:config into the Firefox address bar and hit enter. you will get a warning to be careful :)
- In the Search bar, type : diverted
- look for this line: browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground
By default, the value of this entry is false. To change it, double click on that line and it will toggle the value from 'false to 'true'. Restart Firefox .

Toad Hall, that is fantastic, one minute and years of accumulated frustration is behind me. Thank you. I have been so used to the link switching to Firefox for so long, that when I clicked on "problem solved" and nothing appeared to happen, I went on and clicked half a dozen more times before I realised my mistake!
