I have bookmarks that I want to import that are simply in a folder.
Hi Guys,
I have bookmarks that I want to import that are simply in a folder. I am redbuilding my system after a reinstall. I am also synchronizing my bookmarks across Firefox. However, I did not create a bookmark backup prior to reinstalling my system (Win 7). Also, I am not sure when or where I saved these bookmarks but I would like to merge them into the Firefox bookmarks that are now synchronizing just in case any are missing. I browsed the help but none of the articles applies to my situation. The import feature goes looking for the IE bookmarks without asking for a directory and the HTML import does not seem to work when I manually select one of these bookmarks (I would rather merge the folders similar to windows explorer copy/paste).
Thanks in advance, David

In a folder, are you talking about shortcuts?
Yes, file type is "internet shortcut" and clicking the shortcut takes you to the bookmarked webpage, presumably with your default browser.
Thanks, David
If you have a "C:\Windows.old" folder with personal data from a previously installed Windows version then you can recover personal data from a previously used profile in this backup.
Did you create an HTML backup or a JSON backup?
To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Now open your file browser to the folder the shortcuts are in. Select what you want, then move or copy them just like normal files. You can drop them into the Unsorted Bookmarks folder, or wherever you want, as long as that folder is shown on screen.
