After updating Firefox, it won't connect. IE works fine. Every time I start Firefox and it doesn't work, I close it and an error box appears saying "Firefox has stopped working. Close the program or Check online for solution and close the program." Firefox only seems to work after I uninstall it and then download a fresh copy but then it only works once and I have to uninstall and download again. It always has to be a fresh download, I can't use the same download exe every time. My firewall does allow Firefox through but every time I download another copy I have to allow it again and it works till I close Firefox.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift (Mac: Options) key to see if that works.

It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.
