You can check for issues caused by plugins and set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.
- plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode
In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" then try to disable this feature. To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
I checked the plugins and it's the same result, I dont use "Clear history when Firefox closes".
I updated the FIrefox and now it's getting worse... I hoped that the update will fix this problem.. I really like Firefox but this problem makes me think otherwise, please solve this issue...
@bodobogdan17 - I'm seeing this on multiple Vista and 7 computers.
The only fix for 7 computers is to do an inplace upgrade/repair install. http://www.pcworld.com/article/243190/how_to_repair_a_corrupt_windows_7_installation.html
Here are things that don't work: 1)Completely removing FF (folders and registry entries) and reinstalling. 2)Using FF x64. 3)Going back to FF 43.03. 4)Turning off HW acceleration. 5)Updating video/network/chipset drivers. 6)Running FF in Safe Mode. 7)Booting Windows in Safe Mode.
Whatever it is, it's a massive problem.
So if it is a massive problem, why is not yet fix or working on this issue? I don't get it.. It's firefox response hei find a browser that really works cuz we don't give a damn..
bodobogdan17, the work that is done to fix this issue won't happen here in the forum (where people replying are mainly firefox users & volunteers like you), but in the respective bug reports like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1243098. Developers are looking actively into the matter and it was raised as a major issue in the appropriate channels, however it is a diffuse issue with various different symptoms and no clear cause identified yet. if you think you could help on the issue you could post in the mentioned bug report, say that you are affected by the issue, can reliably reproduce it and ask the devs there if anything particular can be done to troubleshoot/get some more information out of your machine that might help them understand the issue better.
could you generate a list of installed software on your device with ccleaner as described at https://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/ccleaner-how-tos/listing-installed-programs & share this with us?
also (&probably more important/urgent): does this test build change anything about the problem when you try to install it and use it for a bit?: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/try-builds/[email protected]/try-win32/firefox-44.0.2.en-US.win32.installer.exe

thanks, did you catch my prior reply about the test build as well? getting evaluated if this might work would be a bit time critical, because a .2 update is planned for 44 and the question is if this potential fix should be included as well...
yes.. didn't get any result unfortunately.
Hello, I also have the same issue. I notice that the crash only happens on Facebook . I tested with other sites and everything works fine.
About the Facebook and the crashes, I think it's something with the videos or with the timeline. When the crash happens, the CPU is at 50% and if I keep the browser open it stays like this. If I close it, after 30-40 seconds I get the Crash Report.
I've notice that this issue is only after the update 44 (I have Windows 7 64 bit). I posted some crash reports (maybe this helps).
