Frequent (inevitable?) crashes while USING the product (latest FF prod rel.) normal (even without Adobe Flash disabled)?
Hi,
I am quite happy with the way FF is more advanced than Chrome while handling >1 windows with >1 tabs open in. However, I am looking for (more) stability. Please note that I have opted to not use flash with this (always latest prod rel) browser and if I need to view a flash site, I use other browsers. However, while this helps with CPU usage and memory utilisation, the browser still ends up crashing even with no special plugins/extensions (bare minimum) installed (aside from vanilla/defaults):

I don't do Crash Reports but while you're waiting for that sort of help you should investigate your Rapportive 1.4.0.1 extension. The news doesn't look good - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/rapportive/

Thanks. I installed it just a couple of weeks ago so most likely not the source of the problem. I will disable it, though.
NB. I encountered another FF crashes since posting this:

I have not restored the tabs from that session and naturally FF is fast and responsive (idling basically :), likely not to crash.
The 3 latest crash reports are somewhat diverse and I don't think point to one single problem:
- Problem rendering canvas drawing, possible display driver incompatibility
- Out of memory error with many possible causes
- Out of memory in image decoding
Could you try disabling Firefox from using hardware acceleration? New versions of Firefox sometimes become incompatible with existing graphics card/chipset driver software that wasn't used by enough testers to pick up the problem.
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it up again. Any difference?
Since hardware acceleration improves the appearance of fonts and animations, you may want to check your computer manufacturer's website to see whether any graphics card/chipset driver updates are available for your system. Or maybe with Windows 10 you are limited to drivers from Microsoft??
Hi,
Thanks for the reply -- I have unchecked it and restarted FF. Before that I disabled Raportive. However, there was another crash with new tabs/windows -- I had not restored the previous ones...

Let's see how it goes...
Btw I noticed that FF become somewhat unresponsive and black boxes appeared on some of the webpages (instead of images) as well as when saving a file, the system dialogue box had black boxes instead of icons -- only when I closed some windows and tabs, FF become more responsive again. Then the machine went to sleep and once resumed, bp-c5c6c370-cab6-4e16-b015-21e902150417 occurred.
