My inbox constantly reloads messages, and I am not able to move or delete anything.

I'm on a Macbook Air, OS X 10.9.4, using Thunderbird. Previously used Mail, switched in hopes of solving this problem (didn't work). Email is IMAP.

Every few minutes, my inbox will completely refresh and re-download all messages. Many of the actions I had taken will not be reflected - some messages will be marked read, but not all, for example. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to what the inbox "remembers" that I can see.

I cannot successfully move anything out of my inbox. If I delete, archive, or otherwise move a message, it will appear both in the folder I have moved it to and again in the inbox, the next time the inbox reloads. For example, If I delete an email five times over the course of the morning, there will be five copies in the trash and one still in the inbox.

As far as I know, I am able to send and receive email without issue.

Thanks for your help!
