It might be a very strange question/request, but I would be extremely helpful to if someone from Thunderbird team export and send the manifest of the App Integration that Thinderbird is using to be able to allow users to use the IMAP API of Microsoft Exchange. The one that defines some permissions, like Microsoft Graph's `IMAP.AccessAsUser.All`.

I've been struggling to setup a working app registration from our internal integration needs, and IMAP authentication is failing, while Thunderbird Enterprise Apps works great. As I couldn't get adequate support for troubleshooting this by Microsoft, my only hope is to try to compare something that's working with the app registration that's not working and analyze what's different.

So if someone from the dev/devops is willing to share the app registration manifest (of course, with any confidential data stripped off), I would be extremely thankful.

P.S. I think the manifest should be accessible at https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_AAD_RegisteredApps/ApplicationMenuBlade/~/Manifest/appId/9e5f94bc-e8a4-4e73-b8be-63364c29d753/isMSAApp~/false (though I'm not sure that the proper App Registration ID).

When I receive emails with links, nothing happens when I click on them. I have other profiles in Thunderbird: it works for them. I click on a link in a messge, it opens my default browser and opens the link in it. But not for my main Thunderbird profile.

I've read a lot of similar problems, but have not seen a solution. So I'm sorry if this is repetitive. In short, one day my vast amount of folders had emails in them. The next day, every one of them were gone from view..

When I click on "properties" for any given folder, it gives an accurate count of emails that are supposed to be there in numbers, but you can't see them. While in properties, the "repair folder" button isn't active. A mouse over says it's supposed to rebuild, but clicking on that and OK does nothing.

I did a global rebuild by quitting Thunderbird, going in to my Profile and deleting the "global-messages-db.sqlite file". Then restarted Thunderbird. The Activity Manager did show that it indexed everything, but nothing still showed up.

I made sure my "view" for both messages and threads were on "all". So that's not it either. I even tried the Troubleshooting Mode, and all it suggested was that I clear my start up cache, which I did. Still nothing.

Meanwhile, Thunderbird is receiving and sending new emails. All filters, addresses and folders are still there. Just nothing in them save the new emails I got today. I'm at a loss as to how to recover the emails the properties says exist, but hiding from me.

Specifics... Windows 10, Thunderbird version 128.5.2est (64 bit)

Any assistance to this somewhat competent user would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

I've tried moving back the aiedx66w.default-release to C:\Users\phili\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles but to no avail.

- Thunderbird 128.4.3esr (64-Bit) - WIndows 10

I have been using Thunderbird for years, and it's usually worked great. Please read through what I have done so far:

---

When I opened Thunderbird today, I was greeted by an empty screen, no E-Mails.

When I receive Mails, I still get notifications and when I click them, a new fullscreen tab with the E-Mail is displayed and when I close it, I'm back to the empty screen.

I have restarted my computer since. I was able to access my E-Mails via other clients, so I could do my work, but it's still really disrupting right now.

Attached you find multiple images, one of the empty screen, one of the other tabs working (contacts) and one of my accounts being properly setup.

---

Now, when I used the troubleshooting mode to reset my toolbars, it suddenly started working again. However, a new problem: Now the grouped view no longer works, and this time I was unable to restore the functionality.

When I try to enable it, nothing happens and when I open that menu again, the checkbox is gone.

This is the dev console output when I try to enable it:

``` Error intiating smart mode. : Component returned failure code: 0x80550005 [nsIMsgFolder.msgDatabase]
I would really like to see this fixed, as I use Thunderbird mainly via the grouped inbox. Thank you for any help on this.
I have recently installed Thunderbird and will willingly make a donation if only I can get it to work without obvious problems. I have an outlook address and have set up Thunderbird using IMAP and apart from this issue it now seems to be working well.
I have a problem with the date showing on Sent, received etc screens in that they are all showing 12 hours out. My computer is set to UK regional time.
I have found the question raised by groovechild 2 on 3 September 2021 which deals with this question and the answer given is to find in config editor 'privacy.resistFingerprinting' and set this to 'false'. It is already set to 'false' in my copy of Thunderbird.
I have fiddled around with other 'privacy.resitFingerprinting' items in config editor by setting those to 'false' and have explored within config editor 'timezone' but there is nothing which seems to address this issue.
All I want is to show that I send and receive emails during the day and not during the early morning/night (ie the current UK time less 12 hours)!
Help please.
I have used Thunderbird for decades with no problem. On a new Windows 11 machine, though, I am having a problem. I am running 128.4.2esr (64-bit) and just reinstalled it, but keeping the profile folder.
When I start Thunderbird, it should open to mail, specifically a unified inbox and various other mailboxes below. Instead, usually, it is blank. Other reopened tabs correctly display their title and content. See screenshot.
Thunderbird works correctly if I start it in troubleshooting mode, but at this point my few add-ons are disabled. (Quicktext, Compact Headers, dark theme.) See screenshot, lightly redacted.
With Thunderbird running, in its bad mode, selecting "mail" brings up the same blank page. Also, "calendar" shows a correct list of my calendars but will not display their content. However, "address book" works, showing my address book correctly.
If I am lucky or patient -- waiting for the mail tab to potentially come to life -- Thunderbird occasionally works and, if it does, stays fine for days, as long as I don't close it. What could be going on and what should I try doing?
Thanks for any and all help.
AOL: is working now, but shows no messages received between May and September. GMX: shows no messages received between May and December. Not clear if it is working now. Gmail: no longer exists in Thunderbird. Is that correct?
Were the missing messages in IMAP folders or POP3 folders or local folders or some combination?
Steps to take:
AOL: Can you see the missing messages when you log into aol.com? If not, do you have a back-up? GMX: Is the account working now? Can you see the missing messages when you log into Web mail? Did you re-install Thunderbird because your accounts were not working? Re-installing Thunderbird does not help with send and receive issues.
I understand that you would like a quick solution, but this situation is complex. It takes time to gather information and diagnose the problem.
My guess for now is that Thunderbird is working properly. Your messages were deleted at the server or through another e-mail client or by how you re-installed Thunderbird. Good morning, I had asked a question early on Saturday, but was unavailable the rest of the weekend so just now responding to associate Corey Bryan's answer. I had gotten a message that I am using an unsupported version and they recommend downloading the latest stable version.
He said it appears that I'm on the "Release" channel and most likely want to be on the ESR channel. I also mentioned that I am a cave-man when it comes to anything computer and am very skittish about making any changes as I don't how to straighten out any errors that might occur.
He asked me where I installed Thunderbird from and the answer is that I don't know. It was an IT guy that did it many years ago.
So I guess my questions are, if I've been using this version for years, do I need to or should I update it? If so, if I click on the latest stable version of Thunderbird, will that change anything on my computer, aside from getting the newer version of T-Bird? And will my e-mails in Thunderbird look any different?
Thanks very much for the help. Tony
"Did you re-install Thunderbird more than once? How did you re-install it?" -No, one time./ Sudo apt-get...
"Have you been using Thunderbird since May?" -Daily
"Have you been accessing the messages through another e-mail client or over the Web? -No
"When did you notice that messages were missing?"
-Ca. two weeks ago.
"Did you re-install Thunderbird because your accounts were not working? Re-installing Thunderbird does not help with send and receive issues."
-Thunderbird was missing.
"AOL: Can you see the missing messages when you log into aol.com? If not, do you have a back-up?" No/No
"GMX: Is the account working now? Can you see the missing messages when you log into Web mail? If not, do you have a back-up?"
-Account is workin. I dont see missing messages.
"My guess for now is that Thunderbird is working properly. Your messages were deleted at the server or through another e-mail client or by how you re-installed Thunderbird. You will not find the missing messages unless you have them backed up somewhere. But that's just a guess. Let's hope for a better result."
-The missing emails are missing just for short but different periodes of 6 month on aol and 8 month on GMX. Your speculation is not logical and frustrating if you send question which have obviously no meaning.
These mails exsist further. Only the recovering has been stopped for some month for unknown reasons.
I ask here for support and help since over 16 days. Nothing happens except ignorance. The Thunderbird staff knows excactly whats going on here, what are the reasons and what's to do. Here is nothing complex except your passivity over a long periode. My e-mails has disapeared after new install of your e-mail client. This company is doing absolute nothing the whole time.
Communication and "support" as provokation.
I tried gleaning this single outgoing email of "excessive spam/sales language" (I am only thanking someone for their purchase, not asking for another); "excessive links" (they and their graphics were fine before). no "excessive emailings/quantities" (I am only sending one single email and don't do more than a few with this content ever and haven't send even one email like it in weeks); co0ntacted my internet provider (RCN Astound can't help me and told me to contact Thunderbird), I already checked POP & SMTP stuff...
"Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: [VO-101] Message blocked due to spam content in the message.. Please check the message and try again."
What do I do?
I even checked that I had the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird: yep! :/
Just upgraded to a new system with Windows 11. Avast Security. Installed Thunderbird 128.5.2esr same as on old system. Migrated old emails using MozBackup. Worked great for a day. New emails, archived a bunch of emails to a local folder...
Next day after about 3-5 minutes Thunderbird shows the Hourglass and is not responding. Eventually will go to a greyed out window. I have to kill it with task manager. I noticed that in Activity Manager three calendars were syncing for a long time. Disabled all calendars.
Task manager shows CPU usage but 0 Network and 0 Disk activity. 3 sub processes but only one has CPU. Resource Manager shows CPU and 72 threads. Resource Manager - Analyze Wait Chain - reports "waiting to finish network I/O."
I've tried Troubleshooting Mode. Still froze during Troubleshooting Mode. I've tried moving a large local folder out of the mail folder entirely. I've tried clearing the startup cache. I've tried clearing the system temp folder.
I have a lot of accounts, saved emails and message filters. So I really don't want to start over again with an empty Thunderbird and reset up accounts.
I am a new TB user - coming over from Postbox.
The feature I miss the most is the way Postbox let me use "Topics". Essentially these are tags that are colour coded and I could set up a different topic/tag for each project I am working on. Then emails that relate to those tagged projects show up with their font in the card view in the colour of the topic/tag. I can also use topics to search for emails within a project.
I can almost replicate the effect in TB using tags, but that only generates a small coloured icon in the bottom right corner of the email in card view.
I have set up a userChrome.css file, but I'm not sure how to write the css code to make the font only in the card view also change to the tag colour? Is there anyone here who could help me? Or is there somewhere I can learn css for TB?
