I can no longer print from Firefox ie my emails etc.
I cannot print emails anymore and I have to print other things from web searches with no results. Paper just feeds straight through the printer and print previews are blank. I can print pdfs etc from my documents and did print from internet explorer last night.

I have reset the printer as described and also tried the solution to not printing to paper both to no avail! No warnings or notices just feeds paper straight through the printer. I am able to print from the my documents folder (pdfs).

Did you reset all the prefs for that printer, or only the main pref?
Does File > Print Preview show that page you want to print? Or is that display blank?
Please post the information from Help > Troubleshooting Information...
I really only need to see the prefs related the the print. preferences.
Situation resolved! I reset all the prefs for the printer and I have printed a couple of emails without any problem. Seems to be business as usual again.
Thank you very much!
You're welcome.
I have reset all of the printer settings, exited and restarted FF 4.0b9 and still I only get blanks on the print preview screen. I can print emails fine from the MAC mail program. I can also print web pages. The following is my trouble shooting information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using a Mac or PC? I have the same problem but resetting all of the printer preferences did not help
tfanders,
Please use Ask a new question to start your own thread. Paste your Troubleshooting Information in the correct dialog box, so that appears formatted properly.
The data you posted in this thread is too hard to decipher because two lines are like 3 times the width of the browser window - there's no line breaks between preferences.
I have the same problem - use a macbook, and the emails are now coming out blank when I print. I went to the config page, found print-print-printer line, but do not know how to reset it with a mac since I do not have a right click and the reset button is nowhere to be found. HELP!
do you have a pc or a mac? If you have a mac, please tell me exactly how to reset preferences. I'm having trouble with this. Thank you.
Marannah,
Have you considered replacing your mouse with a new one that has more than one button?
(I can't understand how Apple can sell a computer in the 21st century for twice as much as a comparable PC would cost, and not provide a "modern" mouse.)
You can change this pref on Mac's by double-clicking it to enable "Click-hold" for opening Contextual menus in Firefox.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Ui.click_hold_context_menus
type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
Pref Name = ui.click_hold_context_menus
Double-click to Toggle to True
you can also just hold down the Control key while clicking and that gives you the dropdown menu that you need .
sabu100,
Are you saying that works on a Mac? I thought Mac had a Command / Cmd key in place of the Ctrl key used on Linux / Windows PC's. The {Ctrl + Click} does not work in Windows in about:config - the most it does is to open the "string" or "integer" dialog if the user double-clicks while holding the Ctrl key - Reset doesn't appear.
Reset all all printer-printer items that would take it and NOTHING happened. (MAC 10.6.2).
Couldn't figure out where or when to try the {Ctrl=P} item . Please advise. I am really not happy about this issue!. But pleased to see someone responding. The suggestions given seem to be those that have not worked for many people last year. Since this was a spontaneous problem--occurring after years of not having this problem--maybe it is related to something new that Firefox is has done(or is doing) . Please continue to help us solve it.
I too am getting blank pages when trying to print from Firefox 3.6.13. I have an HP OfficeJet Pro Wireless with a wired network connection and with the wireless interface of the printer disabled. I get one blank page for each page of a web page printout. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and all other applications print without any problems. I'm using Windows XP (32 bit) with all the latest updates.
Printing from Firefox worked fine until recently. I can't say what the change or even if any update correlates with this failure.
I tried resetting the printer settings using about:config as suggested above. I also tried resetting all settings for my printer to default. Neither action made any difference.
The margins are all 0.5", so that is not the problem either.
I downdated Firefox to 3.6.3, but that did not help. I removed and reinstalled my printer using the latest driver from HP's site. That didn't fix the problem either. I can't say if the newly installed driver is the same or different version form before.
Obviously from the number of reports, this is not a simple page setup issue. There is some compatibility between Firefox and Windows or the printer driver.
edited to add: Print preview works properly, only printing is blank.

Happening on Mac as well-so it really is Firefox problem.
My problem is I get an error every time I try to create a pdf in FF. Print preview works fine, and I can print to various laser and inkjet printers, but when I try to create a pdf file (i.e., print using Adobe PDF as the selected printer) I get this error: "An unknown error occurred while printing." I've tried resetting every print_print preference associated with Adobe PDF, and still have the same problem. I'm using FF 3.6.13 and Windows 7. Any suggestions?

Yes, on a Mac, Control-Click = Right Click.
It has always been this way.
Just upgraded to 4.0 (Mac OSX 10.6.70) and lo and behold, I am now able to print directly from email etc. I hope this lasts. I just wish that Firefox had advised all of us who have had this problem for a long time that indeed it was a problem and that they were trying to solve it.
So far that problem appears to be solved.
Try This!
1) Go to Print Preview 2) Print 3) Name: HP PSC 2100 series (depend on your printer) 4) Properties... 5) Paper size: letter 6) Change to Paper size: A6 7) OK 8) Repeat step 4 again 9) Change back again Paper size: letter 10) OK 11) Don't print, but go back to Print Preview again and see if it works
This is the one that have work for me after trying several times modifying about:config with no success. Good luck and hope that will help.
