When I try to install an addon from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ , I get the following error.

Firefox could not install the file at

https://addons.mozilla.org/ja/firefox/downloads/latest/8538/addon-8538-latest.xpi?src=addondetail

because: Download error -228

This happens on any add-ons.

I hope somebody can tell the situation.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== Probablly after I changed the cache location with browser.cache.disk.parent_directory

Updates: I've created a new profile by starting "firefox -P" from Run. It seemed to have worked pretty well for the first 5 or 10 minutes but suddenly got the same error and could not download addons any more.

@the-edmeister I looked at the cache size, followed by the article you provided. It was 50 mb and although I pressed the "clear cache now", nothing changed.

As an aid, I created a new Windows 7 user account and imported a portion of Firefox profiles. It seems to be running normally up to now.

But this way, I have to convert all the existing other app profiles for the new account and it's a pain. So I'm still looking for the solution.
