Hi,

I have "Default Bookmark Folder Extension" enabled in the Add-ons Manager of Firefox (78.15.oesr). It now defaults to Other Bookmarks folder Instead of prompting me for various previously created folders. I have not knowingly changed any bookmark related settings. I was able to bookmark whichever folder that I prefer just two days ago.

Default Bookmark Folder Extension - Allows you to choose the default bookmark location folder and quickly bookmark pages via a dedicated icon.

Any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks.

I have that add-on. It enables me to select where I want new bookmarks and folders to be added, that's all. Open Add-ons and Themes (ctl+shft+a), click on the 3 dots alongside the name of the add-on and select Preferences.

Note that Firefox 78.15.0 is the last version for your Mac OS X platform (update channel: mozilla-mac-eol-esr1), so you will no longer receive updates.

TNorth.

The two options in the Preference from the 3-Dot menu of Default Bookmark Folder Add-on allow the bookmark to be place at the Top or Bottom of the bookmark list. That does not solve my problem, because it all still under "Other Bookmarks" instead of wherever the folders I choose.

Add new bookmarks to the top of the selected folder Add new folders of bookmarked tabs to the top of the selected folder

My "Default Bookmark Folder" add-on is enabled (i.e. the switch is turned On), but it does Not serve the function it meant to deliver. It sounds like a BUG to me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ cor-el, I know this is de-supported. But the function worked for me for months until two days ago. I did not try to upgrade. The only reason I use Firefox on my OS X EI Captain (old!) is that it eats up much less memory than Safari and Chrome, that support up to date basic features.

Okay, I think that I've figured out why all bookmarks default to Other Bookmarks folder even when Default Bookmark Folder add-on is turned On.

Solution: To save bookmarks consistently in whichever folder I prefer, "Show editor when saving" needs to be checked / turned on as shown in the image attached below.

1. Choose "Bookmark this page" in Bookmark menu for a new URL 2. Choose "Edit this page" to get to "Show editor when saving" option and turn it On or Off.

This appears to be a bug. Please share your solutions or suggestions if any. Thanks.
