firefox 42.0 dependency of glib 1.22 or greater is confusing bacause libglib (64)is currently 2.0 and 32bit is currently 2.41. Which do I use?

Slackware64 system, running current.

Firefox 41.0 currently, wanting to install firefox 42.0.

I am searching the internet for the dependency libraries to install as follows: Download libraries as .rpm's convert to .tgz make a slack package, install with installpkg.

one disappointment: go to download page, and it says I appear to be running an older version of Firefox, and offers a download button. It does not say what version it detected I had, nor does it say which architecture it detected, nor a chance to change the download target if I am downloading on another machine. Just a big green download button without telling me what version or cpu the new firefox that I am downloading is for. Can they do this worse? I need to know if they are shoving me a 32 or 64 bit program and what architecture they detected before I push the download button.

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/42.0/system-requirements/ Firefox will not run at all without the following libraries or packages:

       GTK+ 2.18 or higher
       GLib 2.22 or higher
       Pango 1.14 or higher
       X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher is recommended)
       libstdc++ 4.3 or higher

For optimal functionality, we recommend the following libraries or packages:

       NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
       DBus 1.0 or higher
       HAL 0.5.8 or higher
       GNOME 2.16 or higher

Rather then clicking on the green download button on mozilla.org go to the Systems & Languages link below as it lists both 32-bit and 64-bit Linux builds in all locales.

The GLib requirement has not changed so if you are using 64-bit Firefox 42.0 from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all then it should still work the same as 64-bit Fx 41.0.x.

A heads up for future Firefox 43.0 Release, Linux users will need GTK 3.4 or greater as 2.18+ was minimum up til Fx 42.0.
