google links dont work on firefox 15.0 and IE 9
I have just downloaded the latest version of firefox today. However, I discovered that when I type www.google.com, a blank page with the words 404 not found appear on my desktop. So, I have to type https://google.com now to go to google. When I search for let's say " apple " on google, all the links about apple will appear, but when I click on them, a blank page with the words 404 Not Found will appear. Same case with IE 9. Please help. It's so frustrating. Thanks

You're not the first person to report problems with Google sites from all browsers this week. Could you take a look at this thread to see whether the system-level issues discussed there might be relevant for your PC? Can't load Google or the Google Calendar from Firefox?
I looked at the thread and tried the solution by changing the proxy but it didn't work. And it's a different situation. Pls help asap. Thanks
I have tried everything, clearing cookies, disabling all my add-ons and etc.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Ok. What else should I do? I don't think it has anything to do with it. Should I download the latest version of Java? The spyware programs are giving problems to my computer except for Kaspersky.
Thanks. I have found the solution.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-search-link-fix/

Yes, Google runs a script that modifies links via onmousedown to do a safe browsing check on their servers.
See also my reply here to remove that onmousedown event via a bookmarklet.
