A web page which has a competition running collects the personal info then asks you to copy a code .when you type the code usually numbers and or numerals or a mix of both, using FF the error message appears stating the code entered is incorrect. If however I use IE the code is always accepted, The code is usually wavy and a mix if upper and lower cases.

That is a CAPTCHA. Make sure that you do not block images and cookies from that domain.
