I have an old Thunderbird email account that I am trying to access. It was on an old computer that I haven't used for a while. There are messages there that I need. How would I go about accessing my old Thunderbird account?

The best thing to do is to have a look at this help page about where to find your old profile in Thunderbird. There are probably other leads you can follow to find the contents of the emails on the old machine as well:
