Firefox has made a deliberate decision to be a browser which is standards compliant. In testing, I have noticed that the current release version of Firefox supports SVG, but it appears not to support X3D or VRML. X3D, as I am sure you know, is both a superset of, and successor to, VRML. Since Firefox is moving to a platform which is in general intended to no longer support plugins, it seems to me that, at the very least, these technologies, even legacy technologies like VRML, should be a part of the overall development process. Is there any current effort to make this happen?
