How do I bookmark a page to a specific bookmark-folder?
Now on Firefox 29 - Up to now, when bookmarking a page, it could be bookmarked to a specific folder. But now I don't see how to do this.

If you click the star two times, once to bookmark and as a second time to edit the bookmarks then you can choose the folder.

Just click on the star blue on the toolbar, then click again the properties painel will come.
Or press Ctrl+D
What blue star? Ctrl+D does not allow you to save it to a specific folder. Using Ctrl+D every time you want to make a bookmark (like we used to be able to do before this recent upgrade) is pretty inconvenient, if you are used to mousing.

Seems to me that CTRL-D does allow you to save to a specific folder.
Yes, this is indeed how it works. The first time you click the (uncoloured) star the bookmark goes into the "Recently Bookmarked" folder - but nowhere else that I can see. The star changes colour to blue, and then a further click allows you to choose a folder.
I can live with this fine - but I fail to see the logic! It's hardly intuitive.
When I click "Bookmarks" on the (now completely blue) menu toolbar, I get a list of things such as "Show all bookmarks", "Edit this bookmark", "Subscribe to this page", etc. I can see no blue star anywhere. If someone could tell me where is the blue star, I would be happy to click it twice. I am talking about the upgrade that Firefox forced on my computer three days ago, BTW.
I cannot see a star anywhere on the Bookmarks menu that comes down; neither a "blue star" nor an "uncoloured star".
No, not on the bookmarks menu drop-down - the star (grey outline, clear centre) is just to the left of the Bookmark icon, and just right of the Home icon. At least it is on my Firefox. Version 29, updated a few days ago.
Now what I can't find just now is how to display the version number!
Ok, but is it possible to make the "Bookmark This Page" button send a link to the Bookmark Menu by default?
You would have to use the entry in the Bookmarks menu or the Ctrl+D keyboard shortcut.
You can also look at this extension:
- Add Bookmark Here 2: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/add-bookmark-here-2/
Ok.
Incidentally, why DOES the BTP button default to "Unsorted Bookmarks"? It just doesn't make any logical sense.
The purpose of that button is quickly bookmark a link and decide later if you want to keep it and to what folder to move the bookmark. If you do not want to keep these bookmarks then you can clear out the unsorted folder and remove them fairly easy. Moving them to another folder is only a few click on the blue highlighted star button or in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or Bookmarks sidebar that both can be reached via the button next to the star, the first at the bottom of the bookmarks list.
Your explanation is not logical. Links added to the Bookmarks Menu can be deleted just as easily as from "Unsorted Bookmarks." Just right-click on a link ad click Delete, or in my case, the 'Remove this link from Bookmarks' on my "My Bookmarks" page....link gone.
