Is it safe to delete all "extensions.delta..." from user_pref files, how?

After suffering from the dreaded "Delta Search", I managed to get rid of most of Delta. I managed to get my thumbnails back on new page, but whenever I close and re-open Firefox, new pages come up blank, and I have to reset. It appears that I have 23 Delta extensions still showing on about:config and also in the Firefox Prefs folder. I presume that it is these files that are preventing Firefox re-opening as I had previously set. How do I delete these 23 files without upsetting anything else?

You can search on the about:config page to see if there are still prefs that link to delta-search and reset them via the right-click context menu.

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

You can also edit the prefs.js file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed and removed those lines.

I followed the instructions and reset all 23 prefs that were Delta related. I then closed and re opened Firefox. I opened "about:config" and all the Delta related files had gone and also from the Profile folder in "Troubleshooting". However, on opening new tab, it still comes up blank. To get my thumbnails back, I still have to reset "browser.newtab.url" each time I restart Firefox.

Finally renamed prefs to prefs.jsOLD. Seemed to work!
