My Norton anti-virus not compatible with firefox add-ons anymore? I can't update without Norton being disabled your warning tells me.
You sent me a software update. It tells me you found an incompatible add-on. It further tells me that my Norton Vulnerability Protection 11.3.0.9-5 won't work with this update, and will be disabled. I'm suppose to wait until they're compatible and then you will update and re-enable my Norton Protection?? I don't know that much about computers but I do know I need to protect it. I just bought this Norton Anti-Virus Protection at Christmas and now you are telling me it's no good? What am I suppose to do in the meantime? Like I said, I don't know much about this so please use simple terms and be specific. Thank You! Suzanne Noonan

Update Norton with live update, it is compatible with the newest version of firefox. Also Norton just injects a useless toolbar into firefox, the toolbar doesnt even protect you from viruses, your antivirus application does.

I too am having this issue and Live Update has been done, FF restarted, Windows restarted, Live Update repeated - same result. Live Update says no updates found. FF 22 doesn't allow the plugin to be enabled.
Also, Waka_Flocka_Flame, flaming products you don't fully understand is not support. We're not talking about the 'useless toolbar' rather the component that provides protection from JavaScript client-side exploits.
Hello,
It is compatible with Firefox 22, just run live update till the toolbar shows again.
Also, my point was is it doesnt turn off your protection as a whole, you are still protected from viruses. The toolbar is not your protection (I'll admit protects you), but its not your main way of protection, the norton icon on the system tray is.

Also note that Google Chrome nor Opera have Norton Toolbar.
That link is for the tool bar, not the vulnerability protection component. The latter is a known issue with Symantec and apparently was a conscious decision on their part on getting patches out in a timely manner at the expense of breaking some functionality.
Hello FrFX_User, you can also try this addon which turns off compatibility checking. Im not sure Norton toolbar though will work perfectly with it on but it will be on.
