Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

didn't work

It is possible that some of the status keys have the wrong state and Firefox sees them as still pressed.

Try to press all the status keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) a few times to see if that helps to recover from this.

that didn't work either, thanks to all who have suggestions

Did you try to close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer?

i called mcafee, they told me it was a hardware problem and not a virus. called dell, they said it was a virus and was on phone for 2 1/2 hrs. they installed a new spyware and got rid of numerous malicious cookies and infections, but it was still scanning when they got off phone. told me they would call me back tom. to install another virus protector, that i purchased, when i checked computer later i still had the problem. so frustrated and just trying to find an answer. it also does a continuous scroll, can't get it to stop and when i get on fb the page does a little shift to the left
