Does it work if you temporarily disable your anti-virus software software (e.g. real-time scanning)?
No. Tried that, uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled and same result.
The add-ons that have links to their homepage I can install from their site.
So finally figured it out. I disabled Advanced Dynamic DNS Service in my router and everything works fine now.
Which is weird since I was able to update add-ons on my wife's laptop yesterday with it on.
